Steven Martinez is a grappling machine.  He has another Grapplers Quest Advanced title to his credit.  Steven recently won the Grapplers Quest Las Vegas tournament on 12/12/09.

West Coast Amateur Spotlight: Millennia MMA’s Jamar Ocampo

This edition of PRO MMA’s Amateur Spotlight shines upon a young 22-year-old up-and-coming fighter out of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. named Jamar Ocampo. He is a morning BJJ instructor at Millennia MMA and an accomplished grappler under Javier Vazquez.

Two fighters both in need of a win will square off at WEC 43 when Manny Tapia (10-2-1 MMA, 2-2 WEC) meets former WEC bantamweight champion Eddie Wineland (14-6-1 MMA, 1-2 WEC).

Riverside's Karakhanyan is gaining respect in martial arts after concentrating on soccer for several years

RIVERSIDE - It only made sense that Riverside's Georgi Karakhanyan would be a martial artist.

His father, who held a black belt in karate, introduced young Georgi to martial arts when he was 6.

By the age of 8, Georgi was fighting in his first full-contact martial arts competition.

Heading into 2009, former WEC lightweight champion Gabe “Godzilla” Ruediger was on a downslide.

After a controversial stint on “The Ultimate Fighter 5,” bad tidings with his former team and a neck injury forced him on a rollercoaster ride of wins and losses.

After having lost his last two fights, former UFC and WEC welterweight John Alessio found himself at a crossroads.

He could either resign himself to possibly never getting back to form, or he could make some serious changes to improve himself and get back on track.

Alessio chose the latter.

It looks like it's finally here.  We've got a HUGE MMA event going on in our very own backyard.  Call to Arms is an MMA event to be held at the brand new Citizens Business Bank Arena here in Ontario, CA.  It will feature Reggie "Iron" Orr and Georgi "Insane" Karakhanyan from the MILLENNIA Fight Team.

MILLENNIA MMA is proud to be a sponsor of our own youth soccer team.  Not only does MILLENNIA provide world class training to hundreds of people at our top notch gym, but we also like to help out the community.  With the help from Art Ruiz, Art Ruiz Jr., and Orlando Ruiz we hope to have a very successful tournament team.

This talented group of soccer players hope to make a big impact on the many tournaments in the near future.  It looks like they are going to be very busy every weekend playing there hearts out throughout the South Western United States.

MILLENNIA MMA recently held a seminar for the United States National Guard.  There was a great turnout, and all of the men and women had a great time learning different techniques.  At the end of the seminar we were presented with a certificate of appreciation, and we will display it with pride.

We would like to thank all of the soldiers for there continued role in defending our country, and we at MILLENNIA MMA are now going to make these seminars a common ocurrence.
